Ras and persisted credentials

This isn't exactly a DotRas question, but might work out to be one:

We have a phonebook entry which has saved credentials for all users. If we dial it from Explorer's little widget (Windows 7) it works as expected. If we dial it from either our code or RasDial.exe, we get a 734 back (which in context is an authentication failure), unless RasDial is passed explicit credentials. This is odd to me; what's the point in saving them if they aren't used somehow by default. Is there something I'm missing about saved credentials? (BTW, our program itself saves the credentials every time to be sure.)

Keith,

There was a change made to the API in 1.2 that allowed that feature to be turned on and off on the RasDialer. If you set the AllowUseStoredCredentials property to true on it, and do not set the credentials property it will use them. The reason for this was it got confusing to a number of people what credentials the dialer used to dial the connection.

Hope that helps!

Ah! That was it - the documentation for Dial doesn't reference this matter.
